Batman's Birthday

Lily & I were invited to Batman's Birthday party on Monday. Ares was hosting it (with the help of his Mommy and his Aunt Karen.) Everyone was there. Batman, of course, Robin, even the Joker made an appearance, and Lily brought Sleeping Beauty to the party.

Oh yeah, Lily and Ares were there too. ;0)

Ares was showing off his muscles:

Noise makers are fun!

They each got to frost cupcakes:

Then they got to put on these cool chocolate bats that Karen made.

We sang Happy Birthday to Batman and then Ares & Lily blew out the candles!

Yummy!

Ares made sure everyone got cupcakes. ;0)

Batman even got a present! A cool new batman blanket! I bet he'll share with Ares.

Next was silly string!!

Kyle got in on the fight too!

He was a good sport and stood still for them. :0)

Lily had SO much fun at Batman's Birthday party! Thanks for inviting us Ares!!

Kansas Day Shirt

Last week, I got to go to Riley's classroom to help them with their Kansas Day shirts. They each got to choose a Kansas symbol (turtle, sunflower, salamander, Jayhawk, etc...). Riley chose the Kansas Jayhawk! (because it is mostly blue....) They each put a picture of what they were painting under the front part of the shirt, then traced with paint and then filled in with more color.

Riley did a great job!

He was SO excited to get to wear his shirt to school today!!

Great job Riley!!

More Winter Crafts

We did these winter crafts a week ago, I just kept forgetting to blog about them. We have been busy with pinewood derby cars, school activities, and just life. :0)
Anyway, we made these cute mugs of hot cocoa. Each of the kids had a construction paper mug, then glued on a piece of brown paper for the cocoa, cotton balls for marshmallows, and then decorated the mugs with cute winter stickers.

I forgot to take pictures while they were crafting though. :0(

The next craft we made was penguins!

They had all of the shapes they needed to make a penguin, they just had to put them in the right spots and glue them on.

Aren't they cute??

(I did not label these, because I honestly could not tell you whose is whose.) ;0)

Craft day is always fun, and it gives the kids a chance to play with each other, which is nice. I'm glad Lily has cousins that are able to come over so she can boss around, I mean play with them. ;0)

For this craft day, Dianna brought a cookie cake that said, "Yay for Craft Day!" I can't believe I didn't take a picture of it before we ate it. It was super cute though....and yummy! =) Thanks Dianna!!

Pinewood Derby 2012!

The Scout Pinewood Derby was last night. All three kids made cars this year! Zach & Riley made cars for the Cub Scout races, and Lily got to make a car too. She made one for the Outlaw Class which is made up of Boy Scouts and siblings of scouts.
This is Zach's car. He painted it black and put cool fire stickers on it.

Riley painted his car blue (shocking, I know...) and found this cool dinosaur skeleton sticker. Zach let him use one of his flame stickers too.

Lily's car was a little more unconventional. ;0)

You don't see too many pink cars at the scout pinewood derby, especially one with rainbows and fairies! (Although there was one other pink car made by another scout's sister.)

Here are most of the scout's cars:

Here are some of the outlaw cars:

Zach and Riley were among 22 scouts competing. Lily had 6 other cars racing with hers. They were all excited to get racing!

Zach was the first of our kids to race.

He won his first heat!!

The cars go under the box and then if your car wins, the light for your lane lights up.

Riley was after Zach:

He won his first heat too!

He is literally jumping for joy here. ;0)

Lily finally got a chance to race. She was too short to put her car up there. :0)

She waited very patiently for the cars to come down:

She won her first heat too! I just don't think she realized it until someone said good job to her.

Then she was all smiles!

After that Zach lost his second heat. He wasn't completely out, but he would be if he lost the next one. Riley won his next one, but then he lost too. Lily lost her next 2 races and was out, but she didn't really care. She was just having fun! =)

Zach was very nervous when he was up for the race that would let him move forward or knock him out. This was him when he realized he was still in it:

He's a bit dramatic......... ;0)

After that Riley won his race too to stay in. Then both boys were up against each other. Whoever lost would get fourth place.

Riley lost, but he was such a good sport about it. He was happy his brother got to move forward. Such a nice brother!

Zach went on to the next race and lost, but that's OK, because he came in 3rd place overall! Not too bad for only his third year doing it.

He was pretty excited! (and a little surprised, but we knew he could do it!)

Here is Lily with her pretty car:

Riley:

And all three:

We are so proud of all of them. They did a great job!!

We are all pretty excited here in the Logan house. :0)

Winter Craft Day!

On Wednesday, we had Ares & Johnny over for Winter Craft Day! Since the weather has been so warm, I thought it was kind of funny that we were going to be making snowmen. But then it got COLD on Wednesday!! It was nice to have a craft day already planned so we could stay inside our nice warm house. =)
The first snowmen we made were made with construction paper, googly eyes, and puff balls. I had everything cut out for the kids, they just had to figure out how it all went together.

They did a good job!

Next, we made foam snowmen. (That I bought as a kit after Christmas for 1/2 off, whoo hoo!)

Even their cousin Karen participated. ;0)

Thanks for bringing Ares, Karen!!

Here are their snowmen:

When the boys got home and saw Lily's snowman, they wanted to make their own. Riley made a whole family!

Zach made this cute snowman:

When Lily saw the boys making snowmen, she just had to make another one too!

Now we have plenty of snowmen for our house. ;0)
