Lily's Recital

Lily had her Dance Recital tonight. She worked hard all year to learn ballet and tap, and she loves it!
Here she is in her cute costume:

Showing off her moves:

She has no problem going out on that stage and dancing in front of people.

After their ballet dance to "You Are My Sunshine", they went backstage to get their tap shoes on. After a few other classes went, they came back on to tap dance to "Breakfast At Tiffany's".

Lily loves these girls. She can't wait to go to dance each week to see them =)

Lily with her flowers after her recital:

Lily and her class did a great job!! They were all so cute up there dancing their little hearts out.
Good job Lily!!! We are proud of you!!

Summer Fun List!!

School officially got out today for my kids, and when they came home this afternoon, this sign awaited them:

Every Summer, we make a fun list of things that we want to do. Some are little things that will be done several times throughout the summer, and some are big things that will only be done once.
Here is our list for 2012:

Let the fun begin!!!

Yesterday, May 21st, my sister Amy & her husband Sam, welcomed this little cutie into their family:

Emma Kay Arnold weighs 6 pounds, 10 ounces, and is 20 inches long.

I think the kids are already in love with their new cousin!

Movie Night!

On Saturday night, we planned to have an outdoor movie night. We had a projector to play the movie on the side of the house, we had invited the cousins (and aunts, uncles, and grandparents) over to watch it with us, we had lemonade and snacks ready for everyone. It was going to be a great night. But, as with a lot of things with life, it did not turn out the way I had planned. =(
Right before everyone was supposed to come over, it got cloudy, then you could hear thunder, then it started raining. So, instead of canceling movie night, we decided to go with our alternate plan and have indoor movie night!
We set out the candy:

And Uncle Tom & Aunt Carla brought over their popcorn machine:

The kids crowded around watching it pop popcorn.

I set out glow sticks for the kids for when we turned the lights off:

And we let the kids go through the line to get their goodies!

Brigid liked her glow bracelet. =)

Waiting for the movie to start:

We put a sheet up on the wall and watched Puss In Boots.

All snuggled up on pillows and blankets watching the movie:

Even though it did not turn out quite the way I had envisioned in my head, it was still fun. The kids still got to watch a movie with yummy snacks together, and they had a good time.
Hopefully later this summer we will be able to do it again, but actually have it outside. :0)

Lily's First Haircut!

Lily had never had her hair cut before last night. It took forever for it to actually grow, and then I was afraid to take her to get it cut because I didn't want them to cut it shorter than I wanted. I still wanted it long, I just wanted the ends trimmed. I finally got the courage to take her last night. :0) She sat really still in the chair:

They didn't even really cut enough off to tell that she had it cut. Which is what I wanted. They just cut off the little wispy hairs at the end. Lily did a great job sitting there for her first hair cut!

Update on Baby Lamb

A few weeks ago, Baby Lamb (Lily's stuffed animal) magically moved around in her room doing funny things. While Baby Lamb does not move everyday anymore, she does move sometimes. This is what she has been up to lately:

One day she was letting some of Lily's other toys ride the My Little Pony farris wheel:

Another day, she was playing with Lily's ducky game:

One day we even found her trying out Lily's new swimsuit!

Here she is looking out Lily's window, waiting for her to get home:

Today, Lily found Baby Lamb with her Minnie Mouse ears on. I guess she is ready to go to Disney World with us!

Lily loves to see Baby Lamb in new places. It is so funny to see her get so excited when she is doing something new. =)

Last Thursday, the boys had their Spring Concert. Here are my handsome boys:

They were so excited to sing their songs! I'm not too sure how many more years they will be excited about school concerts. ;0)
The first graders sang Animals on Parade and Going to the Zoo. Riley was especially excited about the zoo song since that is where his class went for their field trip! They did a great job singing!! =)

When it was time for the third graders to sing, Zach walked up and gave me a big thumbs up! =) (You can see his cousin Taby in this picture too. She's the cute girl in a light pink dress diagonal from Zach.) Zach's class sang Kookaburra and Rockin' Robin. During Rockin' Robin, the kids all started dancing and Zach did this hilarious dance where he looked like he was a bird. It was so funny! He is such a crazy kid! Ha ha!

The third grade also did a great job on their songs! It was fun to actually listen to the songs I knew the boys had been working so hard on. Good job Zach & Riley!!

Botanica!

On Thursday, Lily & I went to Botanica with Camden & Dianna. It has been such beautiful weather lately, that we have been wanting to be outside as much as possible before it starts to get super hot, so when Dianna asked if we wanted to go, we said, "YES!"
We started out by the water fountains.
Fun fact: Camden LOVES fountains. =)

We wanted to see the butterflies, but they were not in the butterfly garden. I guess it is not the right time of year. =(
So, we headed off to the Children's Garden. There is so much for the kids to do there!

Another Fun Fact: These 2 kids like to play in water!
After they had fun in the Children's Garden, we decided to walk around the rest of Botanica. The flowers and plants are so pretty!

Last fun Fact: These are two pretty silly kids!

It was a fun time! Thanks for inviting us Dianna & Camden!

Last Craft Day

We had our last Craft Day before school gets out. :0(
I am planning on having a craft day with all of the kids this summer, but next year, Lily, Johnny, and Ares will be in Kindergarten, so no more of these fun days next year. I have been told several times that I can still do this with the kids who are not in school, but since 3 of them will still be babies, that's probably not going to happen. ;0) Sorry Camden! You can still come over and play though. :0)
Before we started our crafts, I just had to take pictures of these 2 cuties in their sunglasses:

Our first craft was making a tissue paper snail. Each of the kids got a paper plate with a snail "body" attached. They used tissue paper squares to decorate the shell and then added a googly eye to it's head.

Aren't they cute??

Except for the one with the pink eye (which is obviously Lily's), I have no idea whose is whose.
The next project was a handprint and poem for the kids to give to their mommy.

For some reason I only took a picture of Ares' paper....
After the kids all played outside for awhile (yeah for Mommy break!), they had a yummy snack of cookies that they got to frost and put sprinkles on that Aunt Dianna brought and yummy juice from Aunt Mary. Thanks!!

It was another fun craft day! Thank you Dianna, Mary, and Rachel, for letting your little ones come over and have these fun days with Lily. We really appreciated getting to have other kids over throughout the year. =)
